Creamy

I remember
A night by firelight
Ambling through alleys
Wrestling in pillows
Mumbling till morning comes

I, I am missing you.

No one knows it from my face
No one sees it in my settled pace
My mock-up state - my careless ways..

The world revolves around that night
Marmalade pieces of me and you
Evening salve, tincture for wounds
Mends torn boots with a slow embrace.
The noon of evening
Followed by the last stand of the sun

City lights drag their colors across a faded bridge
No one meets our eyes, cast away or drawn to playful crests,
Enveloped shade, hidden by moon drawn shadows

I, I am missing you.

No one knows it from my face
No one sees it in my settled pace
My mock-up state - my careless ways..

A night by firelight
Ambling through alleys
Wrestling in pillows
Mumbling till morning comes

Those shadows protect my expression tonight,
Carbon sky, dark delight, iris of your eye
Seek me out, and mask the day
Wool overcoat, a misty riverboat
City night, tonight, you're sauntering through my mind

A night by firelight
Ambling through alleys
Wrestling in pillows
Mumbling till morning comes
